Wisdom from God - Mike's thoughts

Operating with Wisdom from God will help us do what is right and what is needed in His perfect timing, to remove the storms, lies and fears we encounter at any given moment of our lives.  This Widsom will take us into God’s perfect plan, and there we have life more abundantly, for ourselves (John 10:10) and the people around us.

I was not the academic type and never did like taking the two hour tests in high school, but there I was twelve years later sitting in front of some exams that I had to write to improve my Grade 12 marks so I could go to Bible College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  I needed an 80% average to get in.  Fear overtook me as I looked at the exams and thought back to my time at Goodsoil High.  I never got marks higher than 60% and twelve years later I was supposed to get an 80% grade!  I cried out to God, “Lord I am here because you want me to go to Bible College, so I need your help and your wisdom to write these exams.  If you want me to go, give me the right answers to each question on these exams.”   Well I did not get the right answers to every question, but I did get an average of 85% and I knew God’s Wisdom and His hand had done a miracle in my life that day.

God has made His Divine Wisdom available to anyone who asks and when we operate in His Wisdom (looking at every situation through His eyes), we find answers to all our problems.   Peace comes to calm the troubled storm, fear is replaced with love, power and a sound mind, hope is renewed and we begin to walk in intimacy and freedom with our almighty loving God.

October Already!

I can't believe it is October 1st already...  September went by so fast as we settled into our new home and enjoyed every last minute of the beautiful weather.

I seem to have brought a cold back with me from Alberta :(  Today I am snuggled up to a warm wood stove and watching the leaves fall off the trees.  The process is slower than usual because of the unseasonably warm weather but I am enjoying the change of seasons.  Change is inevitable isn't it?  But it is a good thing!

The opportunity to relax and take a bit of a sabbatical is a gift from God.  I am getting reacquainted with my baking skills which I thought I had completely forgot and I am allowing my creative juices to start flowing again.  I have dug into my embarrassingly huge inventory of craft supplies and begun making cards and doing some scrapbooking again.  Can't tell you how much fun that has been, almost makes me want to forget there are dishes and housework to be done...

I noticed that the banner says this is Mike and Lori Hinger's blog...  Guess that means I have to give Mike a little push to get something written.  Actually last week he was doing some writing, he just needs to finish it up so we can post it.  He'll be sharing some devotional/thought provoking items.  So stay tuned...
